To change my passport to my married name, can I send my original marriage license?
Will it be returned like my birth certificate was when I applied for my original passport? Or, would I be better off using a certified copy?To change my passport to my married name, can I send my original marriage license?

How long after a couple are married do they start to think about/try to have children?
Just sheer curiosity. How long after a couple are married do they start to think about/try to have children?
We waited two years. We wanted time to just be together and totally focused on one another. How long after a couple are married do they start to think about/try to have children?
i think you just know when someone is missing in your family. you go from just the two of you to feeling like a baby should be in the backseat when you are driving around or that empty bedroom feels the need to be filled. your heart lets you know when its time and it may be a few months after marriage to a few years but when you start to notice every newborn or pregnant woman you can guess its soon
that's up to the couple if they want to have children right after they get married or wait 1 or 2 years or whatever but i always found it stupid to get married just to have kids or sex but that's just me so i can't speak for others but me and my wife adopted a boy a year before we got married but we are waiting a few years before we have one of are own
That is for the couple to decide.
But you need to ask your self are you financially, emotionally, and physically ready to handle another person. This baby is going to depend on you and you wanna make sure you can give this baby the best life you can. =)
Depends on what they want, and how long they LIVED together prior to marriage.
Once they feel strongly that they are a good match, and share the same life goals/views....it's the ';right time';.
Some accomplish those young, some old....who knows who cares! It's an individual thing that has large room for error.
It depends on the couple, every time.
Some people have kids before they get married, some people get married because they had kids.. Some people never have kids, some people get married and immediately have children... It depends on the couple
some try on their wedding night and some wait a couple of years or more to have children... depends on finacial situations and some get pregnant on accident... my hubby and i waited 3 yrs before having a baby and then she miscarried into our 6 month...
My husband and I had our first baby two and a half months before our two year anniversary. But it is different for everyone, you and your husband will know when it is time!
I would say after at least one year of marriage if your finances are where they should be.
I got pregnant a month or so after the wedding. It all depends on the couple and what they want.
i waited for about 2 days
go for it harder harder :)

How can a Us citizen get married in Italy?
I m italian and i m married with an american.
Soon we ll go in Italy and we want to get married only in a catholic church because we did not do it in Us.
Does anybody know how this works? How can a Us citizen get married in Italy?
Cause you are married already officialy and just asking for the cercemony in church there is only one thing to do. Just pick out a church and make an appointment with the priest showing him your marriage certificate. That's all.
Take careHow can a Us citizen get married in Italy?
Here is the information page from the US Embassy in Rome. Note that there are slightly different instructions for each consular district; you should look at the link that has to do with the place where you plan to marry.
http://italy.usembassy.gov/acs/marriage/鈥?/a>
here is what you will need :
RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES: If a religious ceremony is performed by a Roman Catholic priest, a separate civil ceremony is unnecessary but the priest must register the marriage with the Ufficiale di Stato Civile in order for it to be legal. Because of the special Italian requirements applicable to marriage performed by non-Roman Catholic clergymen, the latter usually insist on a prior civil ceremony before performing a religious ceremony in order to ensure the legality of the marriage.

How long did you know your significant other before you got engaged then married?
Hi! I knew my husband for 1 week, yes 7 whole days before he proposed to me. That was back in 06. We were engaged for a lil over a year then got married a lil over a year ago. So we've only been together for about 27 months all together.
Interesting question?? Star Me!! Thanks! How long did you know your significant other before you got engaged then married?
We knew one another 6 weeks before I proposed in April. We were married the following December.....25 years ago.How long did you know your significant other before you got engaged then married?
My fiance and I knew each other when we were in college. He tried to ask me out in my sophomore year when we got to know each other, but that didn't work. After he graduated (he's a year older) and went off to the East Coast (we're midwestern) to go to grad school, he tried to ask me out again when I was a senior in college. I still wasn't interested.
Then I graduated from college and started grad school a couple hours away from him. We started hanging out more, one thing led to another and we started dating. Eventually, I proposed and now we're engaged!
To sum up the dates:
Became friends/he asked me out a couple times: September of 2003
Started dating: January of 2007
Got engaged: March of 2008
Getting married: August of 2009
My fiance and I grew up together in church (literally, we were in the nursery together!) and we started dating when we were 14. Everyone told us we were too young, wasting our time, and wouldn't make it. We are now both 19, about to turn 20, and will be getting married in a year. We have been dating for 5 years so far, and are doing great! We were not the typical high school relationship. I began college classes when I was in my senior year in high school so we could get married when I finished college. Our plan did not quite work out, because we will be getting married one semester before I am out of college, but close enough!
We grew up in the same neighborhood :) Dated briefly 10 years ago, again 8 years ago, then start dating again seriously May 2007. Got engaged Sept. 2007. Getting married December 2008 (8 days from now!) Fate kept bringing us together and this time around, the time was right and we were ready. If we hadn't had those years apart, we wouldn't be where we are today, but I'm glad I've known him this long. I am 100% certain this is meant to be.
My hubby and I were friends before we started dating. We knew each other for 5 years as friends, then dated for about 9 months before he proposed. Then after being engaged 4 months we were married! So it was about 6 years and 2 months of knowing each other before we got married. great question. much more interesting than many I've seen on here.
My fiance and I have known each other for 5 years. We tried dating 5 years ago, but I guess we werent ready for marriage. He asked if we can try dating again, and I said yes. We officially started dating in April and then engaged in September of this year!

Joining the air force as a married woman?
I am considering joining the air force in a few months after i receive my BA, so i would be going in as an officer. I am also planning to get married, would most likely join after married. is there any advice that i should take into consideration before making this decision. my husband to be totally supports my decision whichever way i go, but what are the chances that we would be separated and for how long. thanks in advance!Joining the air force as a married woman?
Just because you have a BA, doesn't mean you will be an Officer in the USAF.
You would have to apply for OCS and be accepted.
That will depend on what your degree is in, your QPA and your leadership ability.Joining the air force as a married woman?
You'll definitely be separated while you go through initial training, and in the future, if you are deployed where your spouse can't join you.
Have you talked to anyone about OTS yet? Its very competitive...Average GPA is 3.6 and technical majors are in much higher demand than non-techs. OTS is three months long and then you would have a school based on your AFSC (Air Force specialty code). The length of each schoolis different.
We don't deploy for 18 months at time...I think the Army holds the record at 15 months. And some career fields deploy more than others.
One thing that another writer touched on was your husband's career...is he willing/able to pick up and go when you do? I lost a troop when she got an assignment and her husband told her it was the marriage or the Air Force....he had an extremely well-paying job and he wasn't willing to start over somewhere else. Has your husband considered joining? The Air Force is very good at join-spouse assignments.
I'm not saying don't do it; its just going to be an interesting year if you do.
You will be separated some, thats for sure. The Air Force is a good life though for married people, once you get established at your new assignment he can join you and you can live on base of in the public environment. I think Officers though have to sign on for 6 years where enlisted ranks are for 4 years.
No one has the better answer than you. You are the only one that knows your partner and that is how you should make your decision. You have to take in account that now your partner is saying it is OK, but than those lonely nights and days start creeping than what. If you are planning to get married enjoy your marraige with your husband for the first yr. Than make a move from here until than, you might just find something else you may be interested in . I would say it sounds good and may even look good but is it what you really need at this time.
hmmmm, i know this probably wont be a popular answer to your question but, as newly weds it will be incredibly difficult for a new service member. also, with the gender roles reversed there could be problems. for example; when your groom to be gets a job in your duty location, will he be willing to up and quit it when your duty location changes? is he going to be fine with you being, for better or worse salary, the primary concern when it comes to his non career advancement due to change of locations. just one thing to think about, you can take it for what its worth or not at all.
My husband and I are both active duty and believe me when i say it's hard as heck to be separated from your spouse for 4 months or hell sometimes even 15 months. It takes extra work and lots of commitment to get though deployments. But once you make it through that first one in such an awesome feeling to know that you made it though!
. He may not understand alot of the things you'll go though as being a military woman.
it's a hard job being married AND in the military, but to me i feel that i have a super string bond with my husband because of it and i wouldn't change it.
good luck on your decision!
You could go in as an officer. If your school has a ROTC program you might go talk to the officers there to get info on how to join as an officer. The Air Force and Navy are not heavily deployed in Iraq at the moment but there is always a chance you could be separated. It could be for as much as 18 months, often less then that, sometimes more then that. You will probably have opportunities for leave inside that time if you are deployed over seas. Your chances for being separated from your husband really depend on your job and where your stationed. Sometime within a career you will be separated for an extended period even if this is only on account of training it will happen. Depending on your job you might be separated quite often for the majority of the time or rarely separated at all. An Air Force officer can give you better info. My husband is a Marine officer.
I wish you well in both endeavors. I have to say that if I were considering a military career and weren't married, I would pursue it first before I got married.I applaud you for wanting to getting married and then join but a military life is extremely difficult on newlyweds especially being away for extended amounts of time. Not saying that it would happen, but people tend to drift apart during separation and although it is never meant to happen, there is no reconciliation. My advice is think long and hard. Unless you can arrange it to where you will be together and he can relocate with you then I would reconsider. If I wanted a military career then that is what I would do, try it through basic and then maybe your love will survive and things will be ok and then you will know. But there is no way I would do both at the same time.
I can tell you that if your going to join a service, the Air Force will cater to your needs the best. The housing on base is always top quality and deployments dont usually last that long. As for separation, what would your job be? If you go to a military school out of your bases state he couldn't come with you as well as if you get deployed obviously. But as far as field exercises that also depends on your job.

What is so good about being married?
1. You sleep with the same person
2. You wake up with the same person
3. You are too busy planning wedding, kids, house, ect to have fun
4. You can't have any variety
5. You are stuck doing the same thing every single day
6. Your personal freedom is limited.
7. You have to make a lot of pointless sacrifices
8. You are always dragged into doing something that you don't want.
9. Fight a lot
I can go on and on. Married life is so freakin depressing. What is so good about being married?
All but # 1and 3 apply in my caseWhat is so good about being married?
If this is your life then I would strongly urge you to get counseling with your husband because that is not what marriage should be. Then if things haven't changed, then it would be time to get out. But don't be so willing to throw it all away because you are feeling this way right now. Everybody goes through lulls, and every day isn't going to be this wild passionate love affair like it was when you were dating. However, there definitley should be more to it than what you've described. Also, remember marriage takes work on both sides and 2 major factors are communication and trust. Without the 2, there really isn't much of a foundation. It's sad but true that once a couple decides to marry they either had such big expectations and then feel disappointed or they begin to take the other for granted. Which is why communication is key. Remember, he can't read your mind anymore than you can read his. Good Luck!
I agree with you marriage has a lot of downs to it, although I believe I would still do it. For one reason, just to know that the same person you fell in love with is strong enough person to stay with you until the end of time and that they want to is amazing. Your life doesn't stop when you get married it reaches a new state. You have someone to try things with you, just be sure to find someone who is willing to do new things and life is so much better when the person you love is beside you.
I think only having one person is great because if there wasn't just one you would end up spending the rest of your life meeting new guys, dumping them, putting up with their crap, and the lies they will tell you. It's a life long cycle of chaos.
Being married can be fun, it just takes some effort and it's not as hectic as it seems, who says you have to have children?
Also it just feels good to know that he/she will be there to hold you when no one else will and at the end you'll be happy with your decision.
Marriage teaches you compassion, persistence, forgiveness, patience, love, tenacity, intimate communication skills, faithfulness and self-control.
If you don't have these going in - you don't have the character to be married and you will soon enough, not be.
This is what we are supposed to be and do as good human beings. Marriage teaches you how to be a good human being. Take a long, hard look at the 50% divorce rate pretty much around the world. What does this tell you about the quality of people that are being raised up?
This is the truth! Look at any of your friends that are separated / divorced and do a quick study of their demise. You will see little of what I listed above.
Also know - that it takes two!
If this is your marriage, then you should be depressed. Marriage offers freedom in ways that being single can't. Yes, both states of matrimony have their ups, but they also have their downs.
Suffice it to say if you chose your partner wisely, being with someone you can depend on, be yourself with is an amazing thing to be part of. Maybe you aren't cut out for marriage. If not, that's ok. Just be honest with yourself and your partner.
If you are bored, you are boring. YOU are responsible for your experiences. Do you think your wife is bored by you, too?
If you guys don't want to talk to each other and LISTEN, go to counseling and work on your marriage, then you need to split up. You aren't doing each other any favors by staying. If you have kids, then you need to do what is best for THEM.
Good luck.
Well, if you think like that, don't get married.
I on the other hand, would not feel complete as a person if I was not married, paying a mortgage and raising children.
Making love to and then waking up beside someone you love is more satisfying than the illusion of sexual freedom you seem to have. I still have fun, ride my bike, go drinking when I want, I do make sacrifices, but they're not pointless and we are working together to create a secure future for ourselves.
I would think that you are young and immature, and probably have seen some bad marriages, but I hope one day you'll find the right person and be as happy as I am.
1. Yes, don't have to worry about training another.
2. Yes, with the one you love, how wonderful.
3. Huh, there is great rewards in having a family, I find!
4. Yes you do if you have an imagination.
5. No not unless you are so boring and lacking in creativity.
6. Really, I have never seen it this way.
7. Not if you are a mature adult you learn compromise
8. Really, only if you are not a mature individual and unwilling and unable to speak honestly and openly.
9. No so!
I think you probably should remain single the rest of your life. I would feel so sorry for anyone you married. You seem no negative and miserable you would make anyone unhappy.
Life is what you make of it. Married or Single.
Sounds like you got married for the wrong reasons. The person that you choose to marry should be the one that you want to spend the rest of your life with and you can't wait to sleep with them everynight and do everything with them. Maybe you should rethink why you are married, b/c for most people it is bliss.
...I don't understand this. It's a great lifestyle,I'm 22,married,happy,and pregnant w/our second child. It doesn't hold true. You look for the person you want to have your life with, and not all of this crap is true. I know that we don't fight like that. We enjoy every waking moment together. It's not really the same thing everyday. We love it. Being married is NOT depressing. It makes more sense to me than going out, f***** every person on the block, and tearing up homes and lives. There's so much here that I totally don't agree with.
1 yes, that's a good thing
2- what's better than waking up every morning next to the person you truly love?
3- wedding was planned in a week, no kids, house is fine and we have tons of fun.
4 - just cuz you're with one person, doesn't mean there's no variety
5- we hardly ever do the same thing every day
6 - we do not limit each others 'freedom' for example, i'm going out with the girls tonight, he's going out With the guys
7 - no sacrifice is pointless
8 -like what?
9 - really, not that much fighting...
well then maybe you shouldnt be married. I love sleeping with my husbday every night. i wouldnt be able to sleep without him. And i love waking up and seeing his face every morning. I had a cheap wedding and loved every minute of it! I dont do the same thing every day. my husband and i both have our own freedom because we trust each other enough to give each other freedom. sacrifices happen in a marriage. It has to to help the marriage work. and if you fight a lot then like i said maybe you shouldnt be married/
No, that isn't marriage...that's a poor relationship.
A marriage is when you have someone that
1. Always has your back
2. You can always be silly with
3. Knows everything about you
4. Knows how to make your toes curl
5. Is always there when you feel lonely or need to talk
6. Shares your burdens
7. Makes you smile and feel grateful for them
8. Compromises
9. Gives you great legal benefits
10. Shares their money
11. Keeps you warm...
I could go on and on about how marriages are great...when you have the right person.
Yes, i agree. The list can become endless. Its always easy to find what we want to find.
Instead, marriage gives something which could never be purchased, borrowed or stolen.
Marriage is connection of two souls. Its something beyond physical connections what has been listed. Marriage teaches both the sides to have adaptability, patience, sacrifice, empathy, concerns. And above all it gives you chance to CHANGE (change for Good).
By giving away something, you will get much more.
And when you are alone in your life, marriage brings in the real support - emotional.............
Ooooohhhhhh my yes......She feels so perfect against you...No. 2 Thank ALL the stars she is more than a dream and is here to hold in the morning....No.3 You ALWAYS find a way to make it fun....No.4 You get a chance to use your imagination to keep things good. No.5 And a chance to do it even better. No.6 Free to give No.7 blah, blah, blah.....No.8 You can always be counted on No.9 Why ???

No wonder your 16 year old talks to you in riddles. If you have this much disrespect for the institution of marriage, I can only imagine what kind of example you're being to him as a good father and husband.

well i am so so sorry you feel that way but marriage is a great thing and it has tons and tons of perks to it!
when your married you have stability, emotional support and a commitment which is awesome!
It really depends on how you look at it, most people are looking for that someone special to spend their lives together do you really want to be alone
You haven't met the right person yet, when you do, it will all make sense.
You dont have to worry bout getting an STD !!!!revlon lipstick
