What are the economic advantages of being married?

What does being OFFICIALLY married mean for the government? What are the economic advantages of being married?
It gives you tax breaks and more tax credits. What are the economic advantages of being married?
If you are married you get more of a tax write off, you're health and auto insurance is cheaper (no kidding). If one spouse dies they don't inherit on property in some cases(like money) you co-own it so there is no inheritance tax. If you both have good credit your credit is combined for all transactions after marriage.

You need to go get a marriage license, get married, get the license signed by the jp or minister officiating and have them mail it back to the county. This is real marriage, not common law which can be a nightmare to prove if you don't have kids.
economic: sharing household chores, emotional support

government: you share the property and children, you have inheritance rights in case they die w/o a will and visitation rights if they are in a hospital, you can make medical decision for them if they are unable to do that, etc.
You get more money back on your taxes. We are military and he gets more pay.
