Can you receive social security benefits if you are a child of the deceased and married?

there is no current spouse but a minor child from a previous marriage. i am the oldest daughter and next of kin but i am over 18 and married? Can you receive social security benefits if you are a child of the deceased and married?
if you are over 18 no.......get a job and quit trying to live off the rest of the hard working peopleCan you receive social security benefits if you are a child of the deceased and married?
i believe you only receive social security benefits for a deceased parent up until the age of 18....from the sound of it you are over 18 so i'd say no you won't be getting them. you do not get to collect the social security that your parent would have been collecting had they not passed.
No , you are not entittled to any Survivor's Benefits if you are over 18.
No, sorry!
You're an adult and married...so you cannot get social security if your parent dies. However, the minor child CAN
i really dont know.
You should call the SS office and ask them to get the correct answer.
You are no longer eligible.
I had a friend receiving these benefits but they ended when he reached his majority (18)

And why would you want to mooch off of the taxpayers if you are able bodied and married?
I believe that marriage ended your eligibility. Call your local SS office and ask!
No. Once you get married, you aren't eligible.

My father passed away in October. The only ones who received benefits were my mother and brother. I am the oldest child. Since I am emancipated (45) and have been married for twelve years, I did not receive any social security benefits from my father's death.
18 is the age limit
your benefits usually end at age 18, unless you are enrolled as a full-time student.
survivors benefits for a child of deceased stop when you get married..have a child (even if still under 18 because you are considered an adult in ss eyes) or if you are over 18 going to college but unmarried with no children you still can get them up to age 21
Social Security does not pass off to relatives who are of age and already have a spouse and a source of income.
Social Security is not an inheritance, it's to be used while the recipient is alive. Once that person has passed, the benefit stops.
The only thing you can get is money towards the burial but that is only $250 in a one time payment and the deceased had to have worked. Other than that you can only get it if you are a minor.
No, because you are over eighteen and married. Either one would disqualify you.
