What is a nice gift I can send to friends who are getting married in India? It would need to be shipped there?

They are people from my company, whom I visited when I was there for work. They are inviting me to the wedding, but I can't afford to go. I'd like to send them something, but I know that shipping is quite expensive and they might not like the same traditional gifts we give for weddings in the US. Is there perhaps a service that helps with situations like this? Please help. I would ask them if they have wedding registries in India, too, then call up the company (long distance, use a calling card if you can) and order something. If you're having it shipped from somewhere in India to somewhere else in India, it shouldn't be too expensive. Only the phone call will cost you a lot.





Otherwise, you might look up Indian websites and find something that you like, then ship it to them. It's a gamble, but...

Go to the shoppers stop website and you can order something on line and it will be delivered to your friend's place in couple of days at really cheap cost.


We don't have any such tradition of gifting something in particular on marriage. So whatever you feel this newly married couple can really put into use or would like, just go ahead with it.
