How foreigners can officially get married in Jordan?

Me and my boyfriend are planning to get married in Jordan where we are going to spend the coming X-mas holidays. I'm Egyptian and he is American. Question is where and how and what documents we need to get an official marriage there in Amman?





PS. we both are muslims but we wanna have a civil marriage, so is the US embassy in Amman the right place?How foreigners can officially get married in Jordan?
if u r American, i think the US embassy is the right place.., and i think u will just need Ur passports

Salam Alaikum Sister, Goto one of Masjids in Amman and the Immam can guide you as to what you need to do. I do not believe the US embassy will be able to peform a marriage. You may be able to get some kind of Marriage License though.
